Job summary

You will monitor temperatures, observe meters, drill sample cores for moisture, manage boiler feed stock with mobile equipment, keep the work area clean, and actively participate in the safety program while training toward Boiler Operator I.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates automatically fired boilers to generate steam for heat or power.
• Maintains temperatures and notates meters/gauges.
• Drills sample cores from charges for moisture content.
• Operates mobile equipment to maintain boiler feed stock levels.
• Maintains a clean work area and supports the safety program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Boiler Operator 2 will be trained for Operator 1 qualifications.
