Qualifications

• Reading and understanding simple instructions, memos and short correspondence.
• Writing simple correspondence.
• Solving problems in standardized situations with practical reasoning.
• Applying common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains boiler temperatures and gauges.
• Monitors meters and gauges and notes readings.
• Dries wood to required specification.
• Drills sample cores from charges for moisture content.
• Operates mobile equipment to maintain boiler feed stock levels.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Participates in the company safety program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Boiler Operator 2 may be trained to perform Boiler Operator 1 duties.
