Job summary

King & George seeks a temporary Boiler Tender/Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain stationary mechanical equipment, including steam boilers and chillers, to provide utilities, heating and cooling. The role may require more than one shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring gauges, recording conditions, adjusting controls, conducting maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in industrial HVAC systems and gas fired boilers.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical control devices.
• Familiar with direct expansion, chilled and heated water systems, and boiler operation.

Responsibilities

• Reads meters and gauges or recording devices to verify operating conditions.
• Records data such as temperature, hours of operation, fuel consumed, and pressure.
• Adjusts manual or automatic controls to stay within operating ranges and switch to backup systems when needed.
• Visually inspects equipment to detect malfunctions and perform maintenance.
• Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, replacing parts, and cleaning burners.
• Oils and lubricates equipment as required.
• Performs water titration tests and adds chemical additives to prevent scale buildup.
• Records actions in the operator's logbook.
• Completes periodic inspections and required documentation.
• Responds to emergency and after-hours service calls and may work overtime.
