Job summary

Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a hands-on BOH Hourly Manager. Lead shifts, train teams, maintain high food quality, and ensure safety and sanitation in a fast-paced BBQ environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in back-of-house leadership, BBQ knowledge or eagerness to learn, and a ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of back-of-house or kitchen leadership experience, especially BBQ/fast-casual.
• Hands-on knowledge of smoking/BBQ technique is a plus or eager to learn.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and develop hourly team members.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Reliable, organized, and accountable.
• Available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand and move for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around heat/smoke.

THE ROLE

As a BOH Hourly Manager, you will:

• Lead BOH shifts and ensure smooth, efficient kitchen operations
• Coach, train, and develop BOH team members
• Maintain food quality, consistency, and production standards
• Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness
• Monitor prep, production, inventory, and product availability
• Assist with opening, closing, labor management, and shift execution
• Communicate effectively with FOH leadership to support the overall operation
• Jump in wherever needed to support the team

This is a hands‑on leadership role. Our managers work alongside their teams, stay engaged in the operation, and set the standard through their actions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of back‑of‑house or kitchen leadership experience; BBQ, high volume or fast‑casual restaurant experience strongly preferred.
• Hands‑on knowledge of smoking/BBQ technique is a bug plus – or a genuine hunger to learn it fast.
• Proven ability to train, coach, and develop hourly team members into future leaders.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Reliable, organized, and accountable
• Available to work early morning, weekends, and holidays
• Able to stand and move for the full shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around heat, smoke, and a fast moving kitchen.
