Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Stay up to date on the latest repair methods and techniques for the vehicles sold and serviced by the dealership.
2. Perform all body and fender repairs according to estimate and supplement as necessary.
3. Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
4. Perform welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing operations.
5. Diagnose the cause of malfunction and perform needed repair.
6. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
7. Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
8. Advise Body Shop Manager if additional work is needed.
9. Use basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals.
10. Follow factory and dealership procedures when performing warranty work.
11. Save and tag all warranty parts for storage.
12. Be familiar with the latest technical bulletins, service manuals, and other service publications.
13. Attend factory-sponsored training classes and stay updated on factory technical bulletins.
14. Operate all equipment in the Body Shop safely and efficiently.
15. Maintain an orderly and clean work stall.
16. Use discretion in using company materials and supplies.
17. Perform light painting if qualified and deemed necessary by the manager.
18. Ensure customer's cars are kept clean.
19. Document all work performed immediately after completion.
20. Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
21. Secure permission from management and write up a repair order before working on personal vehicles.

Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license and transportation to work.
• Pass a background check and drug test.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Own tools.
• Grade 12 with auto body & collision damage repair certificate OR 5 years of practical experience in an auto body repair facility.

Preferred Certifications: ASE & I-CAR certifications.

Additional Skills: Ability to read and follow collision damage estimates.
