Job description

Position Summary:

The Penske Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for managing and motivating staff while maintaining a body shop operation. The supervisor oversees tasks such as cab/sheet metal repair, composite bonding/repair, heating/air conditioning systems, surface preparation, fiberglass repair, and box repair/replacement without supervision. Additionally, this role involves performing diagnostic procedures and repairs including suspension repair/alignment, electrical, brake, cooling systems, painting, tinting, blending, welding, and fabricating under supervision.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide superior customer relation skills.
2. Demonstrate strong communication and people management skills.
3. Maintain working knowledge of body shop maintenance operations.
4. Delegate shop responsibilities and hold team members accountable.
5. Coordinate daily work duties and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
6. Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of body shop management experience.
• At least 3 years of practical body shop experience.
• Estimator certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred.
• Specialized training in repair and refinish of trucks and trailers.
• Proficiency with tools including welding, painting, shop machines, and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and comply with safety and regulatory policies.
• Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and pass background and drug screenings.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, sit for extended periods, and operate tools. Work safely at heights, in all weather conditions, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally. Good vision and hearing are essential for safety.

Compensation:

$70,400 - $93,300 annually.
