Job description

DARCARS Automotive Group is now hiring for a Body Shop Estimator!

Potential earnings are based on experience.

As a Body Shop Estimator, you will inspect and appraise customer vehicles to determine repair costs for damages that will be billed as insurance claims or customer expenses. This role involves working directly with customers and insurance companies to ensure a seamless repair process while providing excellent customer service.

In this role, you will:

1. Examine damage to customer vehicles to identify structural, body, mechanical, or interior damages.
2. Estimate repair costs, including supplies, parts, and labor.
3. Calculate customer payments, including deductibles for repaired items.
4. Manage the claim process by obtaining estimates from insurance companies and reviewing them with insurance adjusters.
5. Maintain customer reports by explaining estimates and expected vehicle return dates.
6. Ensure high-quality repairs and minimize callbacks.
7. Conduct spot checks on completed jobs for quality and thoroughness.
8. Reconcile and prepare final invoices matching approved estimates.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• At least 3 years of automotive estimating experience.
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and the ability to upload estimates/images meeting those standards.
• Prior experience as an estimator is highly preferred.
• Industry training such as I-Car certification.
• Automotive certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening.
