Job description

DARCARS Automotive Group is now hiring an Experienced Body Shop Estimator.

Potential earnings are based on experience.

As a Body Shop Estimator, you will inspect and appraise customer vehicles to determine repair costs for damages billed as insurance claims or customer expenses. This role involves working directly with customers and insurance companies to ensure a seamless repair process while providing excellent customer service.

In this role, you will:

1. Examine vehicle damages to identify structural, body, mechanical, or interior issues.
2. Estimate repair costs, including supplies, parts, and labor.
3. Calculate customer payments, including deductibles.
4. Manage the claim process by obtaining estimates from insurance companies and reviewing them with insurance adjusters.
5. Maintain customer reports by explaining estimates and the expected return of vehicles.
6. Ensure high-quality repairs and minimize rework.
7. Conduct spot checks of completed jobs for quality assurance.
8. Reconcile and prepare final invoices matching approved estimates.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 3+ years of automotive estimating experience.
• Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and the ability to upload estimates/images accordingly.
• Prior experience as an estimator is highly preferred.
• I-Car or other industry training is desirable.
• Automotive certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening.
