Job summary

The Village School in Houston seeks a Residential Life Parent to supervise and support boarding students in a safe, structured setting. You will help ensure daily routines are followed, behavior is managed, and students feel supported on campus.

You will maintain accountability, promote positive behavior, and contribute to students’ overall success within the residential program, reporting to the Residence Life Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or currently in progress).
• Experience with student supervision and behavior management.
• Ability to manage groups of students and enforce expectations consistently.
• Comfortable using technology systems for attendance tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Check in with Shift Supervisors at start/end of shifts and complete required reports.
• Carry out daily routines including wake-up, headcounts, and evening/overnight supervision.
• Monitor student participation in after-school activities.
• Supervise students in common areas and ensure spaces are clean and organized.
• Monitor behavior and document incidents as required.
• Administer medications as directed and maintain proper documentation.
• Communicate with Residence Life team regarding student updates and concerns.
• Attend required staff meetings and support student meetings.
• Supervise meals, study time, and use of shared spaces.
• Drive school vehicles for student activities, as needed.
