Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide primary medical management for oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients under the guidance of the BMT attending physician and APP Supervisor. The PA will lead by example, educate patients and staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities include performing bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, skin biopsy, and presenting cases at rounds/meetings.

Qualifications

• ARC-PA approved PA program completion.
• Current California PA license.
• NCCPA certification current.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at hire with plan to obtain ART within 6 months.
• Minimum one year licensed PA Oncology/BMT/related acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical management for oncology/BMT patients under supervision.
• Lead rounds, educate patients and staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
• Perform bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, skin biopsy as needed.
• Participate in research, policy development, and community outreach.
