Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Deputy Engineering Leader (BMS and EMCS) to guide a small team of controls engineers and field technicians in delivering mission-critical Building Management and Energy Management System solutions.

You will oversee design reviews, testing, commissioning, and system integration for data center environments. You will mentor engineers, coordinate resources across projects, and ensure safety, schedules, and technical standards align with client goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; 5+ years in construction or similar field.
• Master's degree in engineering preferred for leadership track.
• Experience leading small teams of engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership for a small team of BMS controls engineers and field technicians.
• Coordinate engineering and field resources across multiple projects with workload and schedules.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and develop staff capabilities.
• Participate in project planning, staffing needs, schedules, and risk reviews.
• Guide requirements development, system architecture, design, implementation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure engineering best practices, standards, and quality across BMS/EMCS projects.
• Provide oversight of BMS programming, sequences of operation, alarming, trending, and graphics.
• Lead design reviews, project gate checks, and technical reviews to manage risk.
• Contribute technical input on client-specific BMS solutions and commissioning plans.
• Create and maintain design documents, narratives, and test procedures.
• Identify and implement engineering/process improvements to raise delivery quality.
