Job summary

M.C. Dean, a leader in Building Intelligence, seeks a Technical Specialist to lead, test, and commission complex BMS, EPMS and SCADA projects. You will implement integrated systems, ensure performance and security, and drive startup and commissioning efforts on customer sites across regions.

Responsibilities include configuring devices, scripts, and data retrieval, with travel to customer sites as needed. Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge and clear technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of EPMS, BMS, Industrial instrumentation and/or SCADA systems.
• Requires 8+ years of experience with a High School Diploma or 6+ years with an Associate's degree.
• Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of complex BMS/EPMS/SCADA systems with advanced integrations.
• Perform basic TCP/IP configuration and troubleshoot communications.
• Configure communication devices and troubleshoot link failures.
• Configure Modbus Gateway devices and use tools like Modscan for troubleshooting.
• Understand vendor manuals and configure power meters, PDU, ATS, generators, UPS, and battery systems.
• Navigate EPMS/SCADA applications for monitoring and data retrieval.
• Safely manage startup activities including rack-in/out of breakers.
• Understand PLC applications to load and update projects and to configure communications parameters.
• Prepare and review simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
• Perform routine electrical and mechanical calculations and review supplier documentation for compliance.
• Basic knowledge of commissioning, inspection, and testing of electrical components and systems.
• Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, protection relays, UPS, power monitoring systems.
