Job summary

Aligned Data Centers in Plano, TX seeks a Subject Matter Expert to support operations across campus designs, system operations, incident response, training, vendor support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for reliable critical infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent training/experience.
• 8+ years of Operational experience in data centers.
• SME designation in mechanical, electrical, or BMS/controls equipment/systems.
• SME with interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Ability to analyze critical infrastructure sequence of operations, design parameters, alarms and indicators, and performance trends.
• System matter experience in the life cycle of data center operations from design, acceptance, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and event management.
• Expertise to create standards and programs required to ensure “best in breed” data center operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• May travel at times up to 30%

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, contract documents, and customer requirements to provide an operational point-of-view for mechanical, electrical, or BMS/Controls standards.
• Provide input on capital projects to ensure reliable, efficient infrastructure meeting sustainability goals.
• Support enhancement to equipment and systems for existing and new capital projects.
• Drive operational standards and functional requirements in capital projects.
• Support training and development of operations personnel through collaboration with site operations leadership and training teams.
• Conduct training, drills, and monitored evolutions.
• Mentor high potential personnel cross-functionally.
• Provide subject matter expertise to drive safety culture and reduce risk.
• Drive improvements in critical system performance and energy efficiency.
• Demonstrate expert operating knowledge of critical system design, operations, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support for site performance analytics, failure analysis, and issue resolution.
• Develop Runbook standards for site management, vendor management, and incident management.
• Provide project oversight and technical support for complex evolutions/activities.
• Triage and recover critical equipment during events and perform root cause analysis.
