Job summary

The Lampe UNC /NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering seeks a Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor with emphasis on bioinstrumentation, biomechanics and design. Responsibilities include teaching, advising and service in a collaborative environment across UNC and NC State campuses.

The position emphasizes teaching and education, with potential to lead scholarship of teaching and learning initiatives and to work with faculty on publications and pedagogy. Start date as proposed.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Associate level requires six consecutive years of full-time service as a Teaching Assistant Professor (or equivalent) along with distinguished teaching and service.
• Record of publication in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2 to 3 courses per semester (4 to 6 per year) across department specializations.
• Supervise teaching assistants and coordinate assignments.
• Engage in service activities, curriculum development, and academic advising.
