Job summary

Altium Packaging in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to run blow mold, grinder and trimmer machines and manage the conveyor system. You will troubleshoot process problems and perform basic maintenance to keep the production line operating smoothly.

We value teamwork and safety; you will keep records, monitor quality, and collaborate with coworkers to maximize efficiency and profits. Training includes completing the Altium Machine Operator 1 program within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience as a machine operator.
• 2+ years' blow mold machine operation preferred.
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required.
• Troubleshooting and minor machine maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Physical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
• Operate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocator or shuttle machines)
• Perform audits, weights and quality checks
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Enter data into SPC database for quality control measures
• Troubleshoot, preventative maintenance, minor repair on blow mold & support equipment
• Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines
• Maintain activity logs
