Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking staff in Columbia, Missouri to support blood collection with paid phlebotomy training. You will guide donors, operate equipment, and ensure a safe, welcoming collection environment.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay is $18/hour with potential increases based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Physical requirements may include lifting and long hours; 60 inches minimum height for vehicle operation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors and explain the donation impact.
• Collaborate to create a welcoming environment for volunteers.
• Be detail oriented to meet goals and safety regulations.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and set up/teardown equipment at sites.
