Job summary

The American Red Cross in Richmond, VA is hiring for a Full-Time Blood Component Processor to join our manufacturing team. You will process blood units into transfusable components, perform data entry, and maintain accurate records to ensure safety and quality.

Strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work a shift that includes weekends and holidays. Training on first shift may be available, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required; 2 years related experience preferred.
• Good computer skills and ability to use programs and laboratory equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Meet production goals while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Perform data entry and operate computer programs for component production, labeling, storage, and sample tubes.
• Analyze and decide based on visual inspection and information from other departments to meet deadlines.
• Conduct complex manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, or deglycerolizing.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
• May require weekend/holiday schedule.
