Job summary

The American Red Cross in Richmond, VA is seeking a Full-Time Blood Product Manufacturing Technician. You will process blood units, scan, label, and convert them into transfusable components, ensuring quality and safety throughout.

Must have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Shift options may include weekends/holidays; starting pay is about $18 per hour with applicable shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years in regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environments.
• Good computer skills and ability to use laboratory equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Meet quality and quantity production goals, while prioritizing workload and maintaining documentation.
• Perform inventory management throughout manufacturing and distribution processes.
• Perform data entry and operate computer programs for component production, labeling, storage, and sample tube management.
• Analyze decisions based on visual inspection and information from other departments to meet time.
• Perform complex manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freeze, wash, or deglycerolizing of blood products, and pathogen reduction.
• Communicate effectively with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers.
• May require flexibility to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.
