Qualifications

• NYSDOH-licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or in biology/chemistry/physical sciences from an accredited program.
• One year experience in a clinical laboratory (internship acceptable).
• Effective Interpersonal and Communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents quality control, instrument maintenance, function checks and calibration.
• Accurately reviews and accession patient samples for testing and product orders; conducts ABO/Rh, antibody screening, crossmatch and related tests.
• Performs immunohematology tests such as DAT, antibody titers and Hgb S testing as requested.
• Manages inventory of blood and blood components; reconciles shipments and ensures proper storage.
• Reports transfusion reactions and investigates any suspected complications.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or biology/chemistry/physical sciences

NYSDOH Licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist
