Job summary

Under supervision, you will maintain equipment, manage QC, and communicate critical values. Must have a Medical Technology degree, NYS license eligibility, and strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology (including a clinical internship) or a BS in a related discipline with one year of supervised clinical laboratory experience.
• NYS Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligibility required.
• Analytical skills to analyze data and perform calculations; basic computer literacy and LIS experience.
• Ability to communicate detailed data and work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on schedule and troubleshoots instrument issues when needed.
• Monitors reagents and supplies; notifies supervisor of needs and maintains accuracy.
• Verifies and processes specimens in an organized and timely manner; may perform phlebotomy.
• Communicates results with appropriate personnel and maintains professional teamwork.
