Job summary

SBH Health System in Kentucky seeks an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist with strong Blood Bank experience to support transfusion medicine services in a hospital-based laboratory. The ideal candidate will perform blood typing, compatibility testing, and related quality standards, work under supervision, and participate in weekend/holiday coverage and interdepartmental collaboration to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an approved program.
• Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist by the New York State Education Department.
• One year of Blood Bank laboratory experience required.

Job description

Seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist with strong Blood Bank experience to support transfusion medicine services in a hospital-based laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in blood typing, compatibility testing, transfusion support, and laboratory quality standards.

Technologist will work, under the direction of supervisor, and be responsible for day-to-day test performance in Blood Bank and other required duties to maintain laboratory operations. Required to work weekends and holidays, collaborate with other sections of laboratory, as well as other departments within the institution, to provide highest quality patient care

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an approved program. Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, by New York State Education Department. One-year relevant Blood Bank laboratory experience needed.
