Job summary

Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician III to support the Blood Bank program. This on-site, full-time role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication as you grow in transfusion medicine.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in veterinary technology or related field, plus experience in a veterinary setting; blood bank experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science or a related area is required.
• Four years of technical experience in a veterinary hospital or referral clinic environment is required.
• Six years of experience in a veterinary medical setting is preferred for the ideal candidate.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technician Specialist is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, and onboard blood donors; coordinate donor scheduling and records.
• Perform whole blood and component collections; monitor donor health and safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate internal distribution of blood products.
• Maintain accurate donor documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to support transfusion medicine and program growth.
