Job summary

ARISE Veterinary Center is a 24-hour emergency and specialty animal hospital seeking a Veterinary Blood Bank Technician to support our in-house blood banking and transfusion program. You will help provide safe, high-quality blood products for canine and feline patients alongside veterinarians and specialists.

This role offers hands-on experience in donor care, blood collection, typing, crossmatching, processing, inventory, and client education, with opportunities to grow in transfusion medicine

Qualifications

• Current CVT, RVT, or LVT certification/licensure.
• Experience with venipuncture, phlebotomy, restraint, and laboratory safety.
• Strong knowledge of sedation and anesthesia for canine and feline patients.
• Excellent record-keeping and inventory documentation.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and varying hours.

Responsibilities

• Screen donor animals for eligibility and monitor during donation.
• Perform venipuncture and blood collection; process blood into components.
• Type and crossmatch blood; document donor and product data.
• Recruit, screen, and schedule donors; manage donor records.
• Maintain blood product inventory, labeling, storage, and distribution.
• Educate clients about blood donation and donor care; provide compassionate service.
• Support emergency and critical care teams as needed; assist with lab-related duties.
