ARISE Veterinary Center, a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital, seeks a Veterinary Blood Bank Technician to support our in-house blood banking and transfusion program for canine and feline patients. You will collaborate with emergency veterinarians and specialists to provide safe, high-quality blood products.

This role offers growth in veterinary blood banking, donor care, typing, crossmatching, and product inventory, with daily involvement in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifikationen

• Current CVT, RVT, or LVT certification/licensure.
• Veterinary technician experience with dogs and cats.
• Strong knowledge of venipuncture, phlebotomy, animal restraint, and laboratory safety.
• Extensive experience with sedation and anesthesia of canine and feline patients.
• Proficiency in low-stress animal handling and restraint.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain detailed medical, laboratory, and inventory records.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with veterinarians and technicians.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and varying hours.

Aufgaben

• Screen canine and feline patients for donor eligibility.
• Safely handle and restrain donor animals.
• Monitor donor patients for adverse reactions before, during, and after donation.
• Provide pre- and post-donation care to donor health and welfare.
• Maintain accurate medical records for every donor visit.
• Perform safe and sterile venipuncture and blood collection.
• Process blood components (packed RBCs, plasma) using centrifugation.
• Perform blood typing, crossmatching, hematocrit testing, and compatibility testing.
• Follow transfusion medicine and QA protocols.
• Maintain donor records and inventory.
