Job summary

Staff Icons, LLC seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to manage daily laboratory operations and ensure compliance with SOPs. The role directs activities of all personnel within the assigned section and develops work plans to ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks.

The position requires supervisory experience, NY licensure, and a strong focus on quality and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will oversee testing of moderate to high complexity and contribute to ongoing training and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of clinical laboratory work as Medical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist.
• One or more years of supervisory experience within a laboratory setting.
• Experience with QC/QA and regulatory requirements.
• Bench experience in the supervising department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily lab operations and work assignments to ensure timely and accurate result reporting.
• Accessible to testing personnel on-site, by phone, or electronically to provide support.
• Provide day-to-day supervision of personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing.
• Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure analytic performance standards.
• Ensure corrective actions are taken and test systems are functioning properly before reporting results.
• Establish and maintain procedures and quality control systems.
• Review quality improvement data and performance indicators and participate in problem resolution.
• Implement new test systems and processes while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Participate in development and adherence of the department's budget and identify cost savings.
• Provide orientation and training to testing personnel and evaluate competency annually.
• Ensure timely submission of regulatory reporting and proficiency testing.
