Job summary

Actalent in Memphis, TN seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a blood bank team performing wet lab testing, following procedures and processing donor samples. The role supports a high-volume workflow in a Level One Trauma Center setting and requires accurate result review.

The position is a contract role, 3rd shift with weekends and extends 13 to 26 weeks with potential for extension. Apply to contribute to fast-paced operations processing over thousands of samples daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical laboratory testing.
• Proficiency in PCR DNA, urinalysis, molecular testing, and chemistry.
• Active ASCP or AMT Certification.
• Tennessee licensure as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Follow written procedures for sample handling and processing.
• Perform low, moderate, and high complexity testing of donor samples.
• Review and evaluate test results and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Notify supervision of any problems affecting testing performance or test result reporting.
• Perform quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance activities.
• Assist management with the completion of error and accident reports.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
