Job summary

Labcorp seeks a fulltime Lab Assistant to join the blood bank team at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN, on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 2pm–10:30pm) with rotating weekends.

This role supports high-volume clinical lab operations and data entry, performing specimen processing and routine maintenance in a fast-paced production environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 6+ months of medical or lab experience; Cerner experience and 1+ year in phlebotomy or specimen

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more of medical, clinical, or lab work experience.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
