Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• 1. Minimum two (2) years of experience in moderate and high complexity testing.
• 2. Thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and instrumentation.
• 3. Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety, infection control practices, and chemical hygiene.
• 4. Ability to lead, guide, and motivate others.
• 5. Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English.
• Preferred: ASCP or equivalent; five (5) years of experience in moderate/high complexity testing in a similar/larger lab.

Responsibilities

• Oversees planning, direction and supervision of all technical aspects of the department to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Develops and monitors quality control programs; maintains records and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Designs work schedules and assigns daily tasks to maintain adequate staff and laboratory efficiency.
• Interprets accrediting standards and translates requirements into policies and procedures; coordinates inspections.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment within budget.
• Provides advanced problem solving, troubleshooting, and verification of test results.
• Resolves customer issues and documents problem-solving efforts and communications.
• Encourages staff development through continuing education and competency assessments.
• Keeps up-to-date with latest technical and management developments in the lab.
• Demonstrates decision-making abilities across performance areas.
