Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances in New Century, KS is seeking a Blending Packaging Technician to operate and maintain packaging lines, perform troubleshooting, and ensure quality control and compliance with GMPs and ISO standards.

You will complete production documentation, manage inventory, monitor weights, and adhere to safety, sanitation, and food-safety policies while supporting a reliable, efficient manufacturing process with a strong attendance record.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and verbally explain information in technical manuals and production flow charts.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Independence while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
  • Willing to wear respirator and PPE; able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Able to work evenings (3:45 pm–2:45 am) and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all packaging equipment on the line.
  • Meet customer orders by following procedures and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance of packaging equipment.
  • Complete production documentation and maintain accurate raw material and finished goods records.
  • Support quality control through sampling and product information while upholding GMP and ISO standards.
  • Screen packaging raw materials for specifications and ensure product safety and weights.

Job Summary

Control or operate machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery.

IFF is seeking a Blending Packaging Technician in New Century, KS. If you are dependable and hardworking with a strong attendance record, this role may be a fit.

As the Blending Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for safe and efficient operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance of automated, semi‑automated, and manually operated packaging equipment. You will complete production documentation, maintain accurate raw material inventory and finished goods records, provide quality control and assurance through sampling and product information, and ensure strict adherence to good manufacturing practices, safety, and sanitation policies. You will also screen packaging raw materials to confirm specifications.

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Acquire and apply job knowledge and demonstrate the skills required to operate and maintain all packaging equipment.
  • Meet customer orders by operating the system according to written procedures and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Promote an employee‑driven environment.
  • Identify product names, resource numbers, lot numbers, staging, and warehouse locations.
  • Verify batch weights and quantities through calculations.
  • Access and update D‑train files regularly.
  • Use computer skills to identify production requirements and operate the lines accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with production management and teammates.
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food‑safety policies; report hazards immediately.
  • Inspect and confirm packaging materials meet company standards.
  • Operate lines with required food‑safety controls and be responsible for product safety.
  • Maintain proper product weight requirements for packaging containers.
  • Complete written documentation with timely accuracy.
  • Identify and handle non‑conforming material, remelt, residue or waste, and label/store them properly.
  • Maintain a consistent and timely attendance record.
  • Maintain compliance with drug‑free workplace and company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and food‑safety policies throughout duties.

Required qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Independence while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to read and verbally explain information in technical manuals and production flow charts.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and arrive on time consistently.
  • Willing and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs (25 kg).
  • Ready to work evenings (3:45 pm–2:45 am), Monday‑Friday.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Production line or manufacturing experience.
  • Prior food plant experience.
  • Experience with automated packaging equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift experience.
