Job summary

Courtyard Marriott Downtown El Paso is seeking a dedicated Cook I to join our Bistro team. You will prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, portion standards, and food safety procedures to ensure every meal is fresh and properly presented.

You will work closely with kitchen and hotel staff in a fast-paced setting, maintaining high standards of quality, temperature control, and cleanliness to deliver excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and standards.
• Food safety and sanitation practices knowledge.
• Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and food quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and hotel standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared consistently, safely, and with attention to quality.
• Follow proper portion sizes, presentation, and plating standards.
• Ensure food is served at the proper temperature and within appropriate preparation times.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HACCP procedures and food safety regulations.
• Communicate shortages and concerns to the General Manager.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
