Job Description Summary
The Bistro/Barista Supervisor is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the breakfast and evening social venues of the hotel. The Bistro/Barista Supervisor sets up, services, and breaks down the food and beverage areas, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service. Additionally, they act as the host, interacting with hotel guests to enhance their experience.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
- Prepare and transport all food and beverage items, supplies, equipment, and materials to and from buffet areas.
- Monitor the area to ensure adequate supplies of food, beverages, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, etc., are available for guests; replenish buffet items as necessary.
- Follow preparation methods, times, quality, and presentation standards, including monitoring taste, appearance, texture, serving temperatures, portion sizes, and garnishing.
- Prepare salads, sandwiches, and soups for sale in the shoppe.
- Proactively welcome guests and respond to requests promptly and professionally. Refer serious matters to management as needed.
- Ensure procedures are followed for the security and proper storage of food, beverages, inventory, and equipment, minimizing waste.
- Maintain clean, neat, and organized work and buffet areas, including equipment and service areas. Perform cleaning duties as needed, such as emptying trash and clearing tables.
- Check equipment and machinery conditions, report unsafe or malfunctioning items, and communicate maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, and serve at hotel meetings, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Adhere to all health, sanitation, and cleanliness standards meeting local, state, and hotel requirements.
- Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards according to laws, brand standards, and hotel policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range
Early morning shifts starting at 5 am and ending at 11 am. Evening shifts coming soon.
