The Customer Service Representative Lead is responsible for answering incoming calls regarding Optum Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Providers, available services in Salt Lake County, and Medicaid benefit plans.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Flexibility to work any 8-hour shift, Sunday – Saturday, 8:00 am - 11:00 pm EST (October - March) and Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 11:00 pm EST (April – September), is required. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, with hours based on the schedule or discussed on your first day.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County for Medicaid-eligible consumers
  • Verifying Medicaid eligibility using a computer database
  • Providing additional information such as phone numbers or addresses to callers
  • Completing administrative tasks supporting the Care Coordination team

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Proficiency with computer and Windows applications, with ability to learn new systems
  • Availability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings, with occasional overtime

  • Experience with Financial Health Technology

Residents of certain states may have a pay range of $19.47 to $38.08 per hour, based on various factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility.
