Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Health Center is seeking a Birthplace Nurse Director to lead the Labor and Delivery nursing team, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with executive leadership on budgeting and departmental performance.

You will supervise staffing, drive safety culture, and support high‑quality patient care in a large acute care setting. You will oversee recruiting, evaluations, and professional development while aligning with corporate governance and ongoing education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Oklahoma and BLS required.
• BSN required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred.
• Minimum one year of full‑time acute care nursing experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and decision‑making skills without direct supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to keep teams focused on goals and timelines.
• ACLS required within 3 months of employment.
• NRP required within 6 months of employment.
• Prior professional nursing experience demonstrating administrative and supervisory competence.

Responsibilities

• Assess staffing based on departmental demand using tools to measure, track, and report processes.
• Prioritize employee safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, Infection Control, and Environment of Care standards; provide staff training.
• Ensure timely completion of interviews and adherence to hiring procedures.
• Provide timely feedback to new hires through 90‑day evaluations and completing annual performance reviews.
• Assess staff educational needs and develop structures to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies.
