Job summary

Saint Luke's Health System seeks a Director of Patient Care Services for Women’s and Newborn Services to lead Labor & Delivery, NICU, postpartum, and follow-up across the maternal-newborn continuum.

Reporting to the Central Region Chief Nursing Officer, this executive will drive strategic planning, clinical quality, safety, and patient experience while partnering with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Strong budget, staffing, and leadership development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience managing multiple clinical departments.
• Experience in Women’s and Children’s Services including Labor & Delivery, NICU or related areas.
• Proven success leading quality improvement initiatives and workforce engagement strategies.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, and performance metrics in a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for Labor & Delivery, NICU, Postpartum, and Post-Discharge/Follow-Up Services.
• Lead strategic planning, program development, and operational improvement initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with medical staff, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure clinical quality and patient outcomes.
• Champion a culture of safety, accountability, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate quality metrics, patient experience measures, safety indicators, and clinical outcomes; develop action plans.
• Support Magnet principles, evidence-based practice, shared governance, and nursing development.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, productivity targets, capital planning, and resource allocation.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing leaders and clinical staff.
• Serve as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to enterprise strategy.
• Foster relationships with community partners and outpatient providers to strengthen care transitions.
