Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Birth Registrar for the St. Francis Medical Center in Richmond. The role supports Obstetrical and Health Information Management departments by processing, data abstraction, and electronic submission of birth and death certificates.

You will prioritize daily operations to ensure timely service to our customers. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED. Prior healthcare experience is preferred, and state birth registry training is required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• State-specific birth registry training is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes birth registry worksheets by extracting data from the medical record.
• Assists mother to complete state birth registry worksheets.
• Completes and notarizes paternity affidavits.
• Inputs data into the electronic vital statistics registry.
• Other duties as assigned.
