Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks a Biotechnology instructor to teach primarily BioWork and related courses at the Eastern Wake or Southern Wake campuses. The role includes curriculum development, student tutoring, grading, and lab-based learning experiences, with occasional virtual instruction via Blackboard/Canvas.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field; Master’s degree preferred and teaching experience in biotechnology or related fields.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline.
Experience working in biotechnology, bioagriculture, biopharmaceutical or biomanufacturing enviroments following SOPs, cGMP, GLP.
Master's degree preferred; teaching or training experience in biotechnology or related fields.

Responsibilities

Instructs courses in the Biotechnology department in an efficient and effective manner.
Tutors students who need assistance learning biotechnology concepts.
Completes administrative responsibilities such as grading, attendance, testing, and syllabus creation.
Creates and maintains lab environments and activities that enhance learning for students.
Learns and uses virtual platforms such as Blackboard and Canvas and conducts virtual instruction as required.
Maintains regular office hours and participates in college/department committees as needed.
