A clinical-stage biotech company is looking for an experienced R&D Finance Consultant to join their team in Newark, CA. The role requires strong experience in R&D finance, particularly in clinical trials. Responsibilities include tracking trial expenses, analyzing key performance indicators, and building financial models. Candidates should possess advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities. This position is onsite 4 days a week and offers potential for permanent conversion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in R&D finance within a public biotech or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial financial processes and CRO interactions.
• Experience building financial models and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D project management teams to track trial expenses.
• Review invoices from CROs against budgets and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze key performance indicators and develop methods to assess portfolio performance.
• Conduct reviews of clinical accruals and related data submissions.
• Build and maintain financial models to support decision-making.
