Job summary

Twist Bioscience in Portland, OR is seeking a Production Planner to develop daily schedules and plans for production, ensuring customer orders are processed efficiently and on time. You will generate build plans, review CTB material availability, and collaborate with labs, manufacturing, and shipping to keep production moving smoothly.

The role requires 2+ years in material planning or inventory control, ERP experience (SAP preferred), and strong Excel/Sheets skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree or 4 year work experience equivalent required.
Experience in biotech or pharma preferred.
ERP / SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Generate manufacturing build plans for critical stock to maintain lab supply.
Review daily production schedules to execute.
Review lab stock and conduct CTB assessments to confirm material availability meets production’s planned schedule.
Own inventory discrepancy resolution across production labs and the shipping area.
Establish Kanban levels for effectiveness and efficiency.
Serve as point of contact for the production team’s inventory requirements, requests, and questions; communicate, track, and expedite special order requests for timely completion.
Develop and maintain systematic reports to monitor effectiveness of production order output.
Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.
Assist in lab cycle counts and reconciliations.
Analyze material usage, ensure efficient consumption per FEFO, and troubleshoot inventory issues such as shortages, expired, or short-dated stock.
Reserve materials in the system and confirm/close work and production orders in a timely manner.
