Talent partners with a biotechnology company to hire a Logistics Specialist to coordinate domestic and international shipments of temperature-sensitive materials.

This hands-on role suits someone with pharma/biotech logistics experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish, solving problems, and collaborating with global teams. The position is a 1-year contract with onsite work in Gaithersburg, MD.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in pharmaceutical or biotech shipping or logistics.
• Experience coordinating international imports/exports with customs brokers.
• Proficient in cold-chain shipping and data loggers.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipment requests, confirm timelines and priorities.
• Arrange domestic/international shipments, select carriers and coordinate forwarders.
• Prepare shipping docs: invoices, packing lists, air waybills, DG declarations.
• Coordinate refrigerated shipments using thermal packaging and dry ice.
• Track shipments through delivery, resolve delays, inform stakeholders.
• Work with customs brokers for import/export and gov't requirements.
• Maintain trade information and support export controls.
• Track delivery performance, freight costs, temp excursions, and clearance times.
• Collaborate with Quality to investigate deviations and root causes.
• Help improve shipping procedures and carrier performance.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Clinical Supply, Planning, Procurement, and global teams.
