Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a VP of Finance for Flagship Labs to act as a strategic finance partner to a portfolio of early-stage platform companies. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including month-end close, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, and technology oversight.

You will collaborate with platform leadership and business units to model long-term plans, manage venture debt, and prepare materials for the Board, while guiding governance and financial strategy

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial and accounting experience in life sciences/biotech.
• BS/BA in accounting or finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Strong business acumen: translate strategy into financial terms.
• Excellent project management with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong presentation skills to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Advise portfolio leadership on financial strategy and oversee month-end close, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and technology oversight.
• Collaborate with platform leadership, PBU, and P&PI to map value and potential unlocks for portfolio companies.
• Oversee cash flow planning aligned with financing requirements and milestones.
• Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans for portfolio companies in partnership with FP&A.
• Prepare financial materials for Board meetings and governance activities.
• Oversee Venture Debt strategy, execution, governance, reporting across Flagship Lab.
• Coordinate space planning with Facilities for headcount growth and evolving capital needs.
• Drive system implementations and process improvements across portfolio companies.
• Provide ad hoc financial reporting and strategic analysis as needed.
