Job summary

eGenesis is seeking a hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support workplace health and safety programs at our Northwest, Indiana location. This role works closely with the Director of EHS to implement safety programs, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, deliver training, and promote a proactive safety culture.

The role supports GMP manufacturing, research laboratories, animal care, veterinary and agricultural areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant safety/environment field.
• 3+ years of occupational health and safety experience in biotech/pharma/GMP environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director of EHS to implement and continuously improve EHS programs.
• Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and field presence.
• Serve as a safety resource for employees and supervisors.
• Conduct workplace inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and reduce workplace risk.
• Conduct incident investigations and assist departments in corrective actions.
• Support animal care, lab, and GMP manufacturing safety programs.
