Job summary

Actalent in Durham, NC is seeking a Research Technician to support a CAP-accredited, BSL2+ biorepository and biospecimen processing core facility. You will perform standardized processing and biobanking to enable high-quality acquisition, storage, and distribution of human samples for research projects and clinical trials.

Responsibilities include handling diverse biospecimens, following IRB and SOPs, maintaining tight quality control, using REDCap and LIMS for data entry, and supporting on-call

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical laboratory or regulated biospecimen processing setting.
• Familiarity with biospecimen handling and chain-of-custody procedures.
• Ability to follow complex SOPs and IRB requirements.
• Willingness to support on-call responsibilities and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, store, and ship biospecimens per SOPs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation.
• Perform aliquoting, freezing, and labeling of samples.
• Operate centrifuges and liquid nitrogen freezers safely.
• Isolate PBMCs and cryopreserve for future use.
• Use REDCap and LIMS for data entry and sample tracking.
• Monitor inventory and respond to freezer alerts.
