Job summary

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. operates the Frederick National Laboratory and seeks an Associate Scientist I to oversee BPTL operations supporting DCP biospecimen workflows. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or four years of relevant experience)
• Eight+ years of lab experience with human biospecimens
• Experience overseeing laboratory activities and biospecimen processing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations for the BPTL team in support of DCP research
• Manage biospecimen processing workflows: receipt, accessioning, processing, aliquoting, storage, shipment coordination
• Ensure accurate biospecimen inventory management within lab databases
• Coordinate with DCP and CGR leadership to support study needs and priorities
• Serve as operational liaison with dozens of consortia collection sites nationwide
• Monitor study collection activity and ensure time-sensitive specimens are handled per protocol
• Support QA activities and documentation under CGR quality systems
• Write and review SOPs for laboratory processing
