Job summary

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Technician to provide biospecimen processing support for ongoing studies within the BioProcessing and Trial Logistics (BPTL) team of the Cancer Genomics Research Laboratory (CGR) for the NCI DCP.

The role supports study goals by translating research aims into practical workflows for collection, processing, storage, shipment and tracking of biospecimens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience in a scientific field.
• Understanding of biospecimen handling and documentation requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Execute biospecimen processing workflows under SOP, including receipt, processing, aliquoting, and storage of created aliquots.
• Work in a BSL-2 environment to process and create biospecimen resources, including blood fractionation.
• Record accurate biospecimen details within laboratory databases and documentation systems.
• Adhere to SOPs to ensure time-sensitive specimens are handled according to established protocols.
• Support continuous improvement of laboratory workflows using CGR quality systems and document deviations.
• Follow laboratory QA guidelines, equipment and supply management protocols, and org activities.
• Use Excel, Word, Outlook and other laboratory information systems daily for tracking and communication.
