Job summary

AbbVie in Worcester, MA is seeking a Bioprocess Development Co-Op to support the Cell Line Development group. You will gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art cell culture, transfection, ddPCR, and sequencing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance AbbVie's biologics programs.

You must be enrolled in a university program during a 6-month Co-Op (June–December) and pursue a Master’s in Cell/Molecular Biology or related field.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in university pursuing a Master’s degree in Cell/Molecular Biology or related field.
• Must be enrolled at university at the time of the Co-Op; commit to a 6-month program in Worcester, MA (June–December).
• Strong experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, transfection, and FACS is preferred.
• Experience with DNA/RNA purification, PCR-based assays (ddPCR), and sequencing analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with expression vector elements and genetic characterization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing cell culture activities including maintenance, transfection, and FACS.
• Characterizing cell lines using ddPCR, sequencing, and other molecular biology techniques.
• Performing data acquisition and analysis and assisting in experimental designs.
• Documenting experiments clearly and maintaining detailed records.
• Communicating progress and findings through concise written materials and oral presentations.
