Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in university pursuing a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacology or related fields.
• Must be enrolled at the time of the Co-Op.
• Commit to a 6-month program at AbbVie’s Irvine, CA (June-December).
• Expected graduation May 2028 – Dec 2028.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently with scientists and cross-functional teams.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and evaluate designs concepts.
• Knowledge of relevant scientific literature and applying theory to problem solving.
• Detail-oriented with reliable results.
• Good oral communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate original ideas and strategies related to bioassay and cell engineering.
• Understand project objectives and adapt plans as needed.
• Independently design, execute, and interpret critical experiments.
• Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
• Demonstrate proficiency in relevant scientific fields.
• Set and adhere to experimental timelines.
• Read scientific literature and contribute to publications and patents.
• Organize and present data in meetings and reports.
