Job summary

Catalent Pharma Solutions seeks an Automation Engineer to support manufacturing automation systems in our Baltimore/Harmans, MD campuses. You will work on PLCs, OSI-PI and IGNITION data reporting, and various SU bioreactor and purification equipment, ensuring cGMP compliance and ongoing operations.

The role is 100% on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule. Salary range in Maryland is $80,000–$110,000 plus annual bonus eligibility; candidates with 1–2+ years of automation experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 1 year min automation experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of bioprocess equipment (SU Bioreactors, Chromatography, Filtration) required.
• Experience with PLC programming and GMP automation support preferred.
• Familiarity with OSI-PI and Ignition systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish controls and administer automated systems.
• Support capital projects to develop and implement automation in new manufacturing areas and ongoing support.
• Ensure GMP, safety, and environmental regulations; review documents to ensure GMP compliance.
• Develop corrective actions for atypical automation situations.
• Maintain automation systems; support installing new equipment.
• Ensure FDA compliance; follow GAMP; participate in audits and training.
• On-the-floor support for manufacturing, process development and labs.
• Maintain technical documentation (manuals, drawings, software).
• Provide client services support for business area applications.
• Offer after-hours/weekend automation support per coverage schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
