Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Biophotonics Systems Engineer to join the Imaging Systems Group in Maryland. You will contribute to biomedical and remote sensing system development from concept through deployment, applying best engineering practices to ensure quality and timely delivery.

A Ph.D. in a relevant field and at least 4 years of optical/electronic hardware experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in optical engineering, optical science, electrical engineering, imaging science or related field.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated proficiency with optical or electronic hardware.
  • Strong interpersonal, speaking, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop biomedical and remote sensing systems from concept through deployment.
  • Develop advanced algorithms and hardware for biophotonics applications.
  • Collaborate on new biophotonics concepts through R&D efforts.
  • Document contributions and present findings at internal/external venues.
