Job summary

AstraZeneca’s Frederick Manufacturing Center is seeking a Production Technician I to operate processing equipment across cell culture, purification, and formulation in a biologics environment. The team works 24/7 with diverse shifts and a collaborative culture.

The role focuses on SOP execution, on-floor training, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement within a high-standard cGMP setting. Strong technical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with progressively responsible experience in pharma/biopharma environments.
• Experience across cGMP and aseptic processing is desirable.
• Strong computer skills and ability to document processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate processing equipment per SOPs, MPRs, and SPRs in line with cGMPs.
• Provide on-floor training and act as on-floor trainer.
• Diagnose issues, contribute to first-line troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Maintain cGMP documentation and qualifications for Production Technician duties.
• Use MES and complete work orders within the system.
• Support SOP updates and drive continuous improvement on the production floor.
• Align with AstraZeneca values and behaviors.

Education

High School Diploma/GED +1 year experience in a pharmaceutical/ biopharma environment

High School Diploma/GED +2 years' experience in a pharmaceutical/ biopharma environment

High School Diploma/GED +3 years' experience in a pharmaceutical/ biopharma environment
