Job summary

UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography seeks a Program Coordinator to provide executive-level administrative support for the biomolecular observing network for the deep ocean. You will manage travel for guest researchers, arrange conferences and meetings, and oversee purchasing and budgeting processes.

The role requires independent work, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with office software and travel systems. A dynamic, fast-paced environment at SIO La Jolla is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in meeting/event organization logistics for conferences, seminars, or academic meetings including room reservations, catering, IT/AV, travel for speakers and reimbursements.
• Knowledge of travel policies and procedures and federal/state regulations for domestic and international travel.
• Experience using online financial/purchasing/travel systems and processing invoices and reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate executive level administrative support for the biomolecular observing network.
• Manage complex travel arrangements and reimbursements, including Concur entries and travel documentation.
• Oversee all purchasing activities (credit card/Oracle) and simple budgeting related to expenditures.
